Lovely local lamb

Provenance and local sourcing have always been of the utmost importance to Ruby & White

Adam & Dave have been visiting (pre lockdown) with Rich Reeves, a farm nestled in the picturesque village of Hounsley Batch in the Chew Valley. Their lambs are a cracking local product, outdoor reared on our doorstep on natural pasture.

Rich is amongst the lambs every day, making sure they are all happy, content and recording their progress.

We are always thrilled to be working with smaller farmers who have a real passion for producing an ethically reared, quality product.

Simple Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder Recipe

This one is a favourite of Dave, our Head Butcher.

  1. Heat your oven to 120° C
  2. Place the lamb shoulder in a baking tray, season the meat, and pour some stock, red wine or port into the bottom of the tray
  3. Cover with foil, and cook for three hours
